Since May this year, the Bridge team has been working to cultivate our Community Garden. It started with the hard labour of weeding, spreading compost, tilling the soil, and constructing a fence. The garden was then ready to plant. With the help of her family, Dr. Pakhale planted many vegetables including tomatoes, kale, potatoes, and more.

We would like to thank Operation Come Home for allowing us to visit their drop-in center this month to connect with the participants that use their services. It was so kind to allow us to set up in the upstairs portion of their building, giving us the space to meet some of the youth that stopped in that day and let them know about The Bridge and answer any questions they may have had!

It’s been a busy few months at The Bridge as we have reached the 6-month mark for many of our participants in the HPI study. This entails re-testing participants’ respiratory metrics through spirometry and oscillometry, and expanding the services available to many of our participants. This month, we also had the pleasure of welcoming a group of visiting physicians from China. We were able to bond, collaborate, and share the vision of The Bridge with them. We are also proud to welcome two new peer researchers to our team: Nicholas and Jacob.
